INDIANAPOLIS – South Dearborn junior Makenzie Wheat is the 10th seed in shot put in Friday's IHSAA girls track and field state finals.

Conference and sectional champion in shot put and discus, Wheat qualified for Friday's finals – at Indiana University's Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex – in both events.

She placed eighth in shot put in last year's state finals as a sophomore.
